Turn slowly to the left, and slopes of the brooding Mombacho November 28, 2006 Dear Nicaragua First Alert Reader: The roads are going in and the boat dock is underway at Club Vistalagos, the residential development on stunning Lake Apoyo, just minutes from downtown Granada, Nicaragua. In fact, this project is progressing so fast that view lots on the rim overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Lake Apoyo are appreciating rapidly. It’s easy to see why when you visit the project. Face one way, and the natural wonder of Lake Apoyo literally lies at your feet. Turn slowly to the left, and slopes of the brooding Mombacho Volcano slide into view and dominate the horizon. Another turn, and the spires and steeples of Granada are framed by the backdrop of vast Lake Nicaragua. However, there are still two rim lots left at Club Vistalagos at an amazing price – only $69,000. Most of the other rim lots have either been locked down for future lake homes or marked up significantly for resale. Walk back up to your rim lot at Club Vistalagos, and add to that your singular view of an immense, deep, freshwater lake that must rank as one of the most amazing sights in Central America. There are other view lots at other projects around the lake, but few rival the views Vistalagos boasts on the Granada-side of the lake. There are other waterfront lots on Lake Apoyo as well, but the ones at Vistalagos have a unique feature. Prevailing winds in the area are from the east, coming off nearby Lake Nicaragua, and can sometimes be fairly blustery. However, Vistalagos lots are sheltered at the base of the eastern rim of the Lake Apoyo caldera. The water here barely ripples most of the time, and often is as smooth as glass. Normally retailing for $98,000, these quarter-acre lots are now on offer for just $89,000 until they’re gone. Coupled with the quick build-out of infrastructure at Club Vistalagos – roads are being paved, power lines brought in, a new entrance is nearing completion – these discounts on both waterfront and rim lots represent a very compelling bargain. Don’t let these deals pass you buy – it’s very unlikely that these prices will ever be seen again on this side of Lake Apoyo.
